PINKolicious (6" x 6") oil on masonite

There's this pink cookie that they sell in Seattle that's starting to be my favorite sweet. They're just so big, it's a like drinking an energy drink. I'm starting to really enjoy putting a saturated blue for the shadows. I might be trying to reach some inner child with these dessert paintings, but I like the idea of depicting joy and happiness; pink is such a jubilant color.

Space Needle

Space Needle 6" x 6" charcoal on gray paper

Time to brush off the cobwebs! I recently relocated to Seattle, Washington to attend the University of Washington for graduate studies in painting and drawing. I've been living in Belltown for about a month or so and I have this fantastic view of the Space Needle from my 426 square foot apartment. I used white charcoal for the highlights, I thought the gray paper was effective for depicting a rainy day.
