Columbus 20" x 20" acrylic on canvas
This painting is an anniversary gift for a client at the gallery, she wanted certain images of Columbus along with pale greys and greens. I used a palette knife throughout to make it loose and abstract. The arch is a Short North arch from downtown Columbus, which is where the gallery is located. Underneath the arch is Main Street Bridge and Rich Street Bridge at the Scioto. In the water is Lindy's, where her husband proposed to her, the image blends into McPherson Park, which they frequent. I also hid their baby's initials and birth date in the painting.
