Apples are deceptively challenging, I've been trying to simplify the shapes as much as possible. I like this painting better than yesterday's, so that's always good! I made a shadow box and used it for this still life. I love all the reflections that happen with a shadowbox, I put a sheet of glass under the apple for more reflectivity. I feel like shadow boxes definitely give me more control of the set-up. I can't believe I haven't thought about making one before.
